| Water Meters are divided into three main groups; turbine, electro magnetic and ultrasonic. They are then sub-dived into temperature ranges. All are available with pulsed outputs.
Turbine
An impeller based flow meter with moving parts in the water. On larger sizes, 50mm and above, 5 nominal diameters of straight length of pipe are required before and after, to reduce turbulence through the meter. Pulsed outputs are available.
MTWH is a threaded warm water meter up to 110º. Available from 15mm through 50mm. Different versions are available for horizontal or vertical.
MTK is as above, but for cold water, the temperature rating is up to 30º.
WPDH is a flanged warm water meter up to 130º. Available from 50mm through 300mm. This meter may be fitted horizontally or vertically.
WPDK is as above but for cold water, the temperature rating is up to 40º.
WRAS approved meters for mains cold water are also available with flanged or threaded connections. Available in 15mm - 150mm.
Electro Magnetic
Electro-magnetic are non-mechanical meters, based on Faraday's law of induction. Available in sizes 50mm to 500mm with a variety of flow ranges. There are various temperature ranges to suit individual applications.
Ultrasonic
Ultrasonic - are non-mechanical meters using the time of flight principal. These meters are limited to a maximum temperature of 110C and are usually battery powered. Available in sizes 15 to 100mm with pulse outputs.
All the above water meters will form the flow measurement element of an energy meter.
