| We can provide a selection of meters to cover many different applications.
Oil meters
Used to meter light, medium or heavy fuel oil. They are positive displacement meters giving a high degree of accuracy. Pulse outputs are available for remote reading or BEMs systems. Used mainly for monitoring the efficiencies of burners these meters are available in sizes 4 to 50mm. When sizing these meters close attention should be given to flow rates of the burner.
Features
· High degree of accuracy
· Optional pulse output
· Optional analogue output
· Sizes 4 & 8mm maximum temperature 60°C
· Sizes 15 to 50mm maximum temperature 130°C
Vortext meters for steam, compressed air and other gasses.
A bluff body mounted in the centre of the flow causes vortices to shed alternatively on either side causing a pressure difference. A sensor mounted in the meter head measures these differences and calculates the volume. There are no moving parts in this purely electronic meter.
Vortex meters have a typical accuracy of 1% of flow over a turndown of 25:1 and are available in sizes 15 to 200mm. To size these meters on our computer program, system conditions such as pressure, temperature and anticipated volume should be provided.
Since the density of steam varies directly with changes in pressure; pressure and temperature correction is offered to give a true mass flow reading. Unless pressure is held absolutely constant, the volumetric flow reading will not give an accurate indication of mass flow. Therefore it is necessary to determine the steam density and to apply "density compensation" to the volumetric information. This achieved by pressure correction for steam and pressure and temperature for compressed air.
Volumetric pulse outputs are standard, 4-20mA as rate of flow output is an optional extra.
Normal installation requires a minimum of 20 nominal pipe diameters before and 10 after so as to reduce turbulence through the meter. Flow straighteners can be supplied to reduce the straight length requirements.
