Energy metering and control specialist Switch2 Energy Solutions has been acquired by the international ENER-G plc group for an undisclosed sum.
Based in Bradford, Switch2 has been active in the UK for more than 40 years and specialises in the provision of energy metering, control and billing for domestic and commercial consumers.
Traditionally, the business has been most prominent in the district and community heating sectors, however, in recent years they have rapidly expanded into the private sector housing market. This expansion has included many high-profile developments such as the Manchester Beetham Tower, London Stratford Eye and the prestigious Royal Arsenal, Woolwich, project for Berkeley Homes.
The business fits perfectly along-side ENER-G’s existing operations that focus on the production of sustainable, efficient, energy in four main technology areas - cogeneration, renewable energy, energy management and energy from waste.

Two of Switch2’s current directors, Jayne Clare and Chris Fortes, will remain with the business and the third, David Phillips, will retire to spend more time with his family following a six-month handover period.
